Drums Around the World History

In 1994 we did the inaugural launch of Drums Around the World as the culmination of the World Unity Festival at the Grand Canyon. At that event we had over 10,000 people with facilitators like Babatunde Olatunji, Hamza El Din, Arthur Hull, Maruga Booker, Jim Greiner, Yamato, indigenous elders and many more.

This historic world gathering was divinely aligned with the prophetic birth of the White Buffalo in Lakota tradition just a week before on August 20th. This symbolizes the rise of the divine feminine energy and restoring the balance of creation. In attendance was Chief Phil Lane jr. and offered an earth staking ceremony to honor this prophetic occurrence.

This event was organized years before starting in 1992 at the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Earth Summit and the Parliament of World Religions in Chicago. There is where I first met Arvol Lookinghorse.

The World Unity Festival was also guided by the teachings of Hopi Elders (David Monongye & Thomas Banyaca) and a supported by traditional people at Big Mountain.

It was also blessed by the hands of his Holiness the Dalai Llama on the deck of the Rainbow Warrior boat.

We continued this sacred initiative after 1994 inaugural event with more annual world wide drumming for unity for 5 years based in Amherst, Massachusetts. with other drummers around the world (27 counties). We featured artists like Tony Vacca, Joe Platz, Berkshire Bataria and other world renown drummers.

In 1999 we brought 180 drummers and dancers to Egypt to drum in the new millennium at the Great Pyramids. This event featured Alessandra Belloni, Valerie Naranjo, musicians from Cairo Academy of Music and several other cultures.

In 2011 we did the same event in August in Battery Park in Manhattan just a month before the attack on the World Trade Center.
